TrueKeyboard 1.1 App for iPhoneiPad Full 3D Keyboard
TrueKeyboard is a new and unique product in the marketplace. It is an enhanced notes application that takes advantage of the iPhone retina display to supply a full, 3D ergonomic keyboard for typing, complete with Auto-correction and speller (based on your iDevice settings). All the keys are there, including all 4 arrows and number pad. The app offers users a PC keyboard experience on their iOS devices, accompanied by realistic animations and sounds to further enhance the realism.
Users are able to adjust the color of the keyboard, if they want to. They can stick with the traditional white with black layout, or select a midnight blue or pink keyboard. The app’s page format mimics a spiral notebook and by merely tapping a button, users are able to send along to others with their notes via email or SMS from within the app.

Apple Planning To Release iOS 4.3 In Mid-December
It has been just over 24 hours that Apple released the highly anticipated iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and we already have MacStories reporting that Apple is planning to release iOS 4.3 in mid-December.
MacStories claims that according to a “reliable source” iOS 4.3 will include bug fixes. It might also address issues found in AirPlay feature introduced in iOS 4.2.1.
According to MacStories, Apple was apparently planning to release iOS 4.3 as early as December 13th but that was before the release of iOS 4.2.1 was delayed due to some unexpected bugs just before the final version was released.
April is an appropriate time for the iPad 2. Moreover, Apple will release a CDMA version of the iPhone in March, so the two new seasonal schedule will balance the company, says Marshall, quoted computerworld.com.
So far, Apple usually update smartphone iPhone in summer. The latter two models of the device came out in June and July.
A number of Asian sources already reported that Apple plans to release a new iPhone in March next year. The model will work in CDMA networks, as is the operator Verizon. Thus the exclusive partner of Apple – AT&T uses a common technology GSM.
The Internet is already an ongoing rumors and conjecture how it will look new iPad. Tablet is expected to become thinner and offer a higher resolution. According to Marshall, however, iPad 2 will be almost the same as the first model, with one exception – there will be two cameras to enable users to enjoy video calling application for FaceTime.
Do not expect more memory in iPad 2, warns Brian Marshall. According to him, Apple will maintain the current configurations with 16, 32 and 64 GB of memory and prices will range from 499 to 829 dollars.
By the end of September, Apple had sold 7.5 million units iPad. Marshall predicts that by year-end company in Cupertino will have placed 6,000,000 tablet so that the total number of units sold will reach 13.5 million

Healthy Apple iPhone Apps
This handy app allows you to track all the calories you eat and burn in a 24-hour period and set calorie-intake goals for weight loss. If you’re sitting at the Olive Garden and about to order the Taste of Italy, you can look up the calorie, fat, sodium, sugar, protein, and fiber content in the app’s large database of restaurant foods (it also contains food you eat at home, from apples to yogurt, and beverages). If you click on “I ate this” then switch to the fitness search. It will calculate how long you’ll need to do any one of a thousand exercises to burn off your dinner.
Yoga STRETCH ($0.99)
A good app for travelers—or anyone who needs yoga on the go—this app will walk you through a yoga session that’s as short or as long as you’d like. You can even let a virtual instructor provide audio instructions on how to do each pose correctly.
Locavore ($3.99)
Now that you know how many calories are in the foods you eat, find calories that originated as locally as possible with Locavore, a seasonal foods database created with help from the Natural Resources Defense Council. The app also includes data on the closest farmer’s markets, with information from LocalHarvest.org.
Pedometer (Western ITS; $1.99)
Walking is one of the best exercises for your long-term health. Plus, it’s free, it doesn’t require special training or equipment, and it has one of the lowest dropout rates of any form of exercise, according to the American Heart Association. Pedometer, which uses U.S. Army calculations, allows you to enter your weight, your height, and your target calorie burn, and as you walk, it calculates the calories burned with every step you take.
GoodGuide (free)
A useful tool for anyone looking to green his or her shopping list, the GoodGuide ranks foods, cleaners, and household products by both the environmental impact of each individual ingredient as well as the social and eco conscience of the companies that make the products. Want to know if Seventh Generation’s laundry detergent is greener than Tide? Check the score. Need to know which brand of apple juice traveled the shortest distance to get from the orchard to your table? It’s got that too. The guide was compiled by a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, so it’s an independent and credible source of information for people looking to live a little lighter on the planet.
Sonos wireless dock review

In steps the Sonos Wirless Dock 100, a mini docking station that connects to the Sonos system allowing you to instantly share the music on your Apple device with the rest of the Sonos system around your home regardless of whether or not it's yours or not. As you might expect, the small white docking station is incredibly, and we mean incredibly, easy to set up.
Plug the Sonos Wireless Dock 100 into the wall, tell your Sonos system to look for a new Zone and press the connect button around the back. Seconds later the dock is connected to the system and can be automatically paired to a zone of your choice (remember it doesn't have speakers of its own).

You can also have it set to Autoplay in zones that are grouped if you've got your connected zone player grouped with other zones as well as the initial volume that it plays too. While the iPhone or iPod is in the dock it will charge the device at the same time.
Of course it doesn't have to be your iPhone or iPod but could be that of a friends who is visiting, and that's really what this accessory is aimed at. The dock basically allows two things: to let you enjoy your friend's music when they come over, and remove the need to have a computer on in your house (or hard drive connected to your network) if you want to stream your own music rather than that from services like Last.fm and Spotify.
Like any dock, it will stream anything that is playing, i.e., Spotify or radio but you won't have control over that from your Sonos remote.

What you do have control over is the volume, either via the hard wired volume buttons on the side of the dock itself, via the on screen volume on the iPod or iPhone you've got plugged in, or if you've got another iPhone, iPad, the dedicated Sonos controller or the Sonos software on the Mac or PC, via that.
But it's not just volume you get control of, but if you're accessing your music from the iPod app within your iDevice then you have full menu control allowing you to select tracks, skip, pause, and play as if it was a hard drive collection connected. If the phone rings, the dock will amplify the
Sound quality will depend on what speakers you have connected to the Zone you are playing in, but you won't be disappointed. We tested it out with a range of different speakers on our own Sonos kit (including the Sonos S5) and were very happy with the performance.
Verdict
There is a case for wondering whether you need an iPod dock for the Sonos system based on the premise that you've probably got all your music on a shared network drive already connected, and if you haven't then you're streaming it from services like Last.fm and Spotify. As we've already said, this is for people that either want the ease of just plugging their iPhone / iPod into the system, or have friends that come around a lot with a better music choice than you do.
This isn't an essential upgrade, and at £99, slightly more than we would expect for something that is nice to have but not absolutely necessary. The Sonos Wireless Dock 100 does its job, and does it well, but we aren't sure whether we could recommend you splashing out unless you haven't got better things to spend your money on.

Apple To Release iOS 4.2 For iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch Today

“iOS 4.2 makes the iPad a new product, just in time for the holiday season,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Once again, the iPad with iOS 4.2 will define the target that other tablets will try to, but very few, if any, will ever be able to hit.”
The iOS 4.2 update is available from today to download to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch by syncing the device with iTunes 10.1. iOS 4.2 is compatible with iPad, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, second and third generation iPod touch (late 2009 models with 32GB or 64GB) and new iPod touch. Some features may not be available on all products. For example, Multitasking requires iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, third generation iPod touch (late 2009 models with 32GB or 64GB) or later.

Changing the font on your iPhone with BytaFont is pretty quick and simple. First you need to install BytaFont from Cydia. Once this is done, go to Cydia > Sections > Fonts, and install any fonts from there.
Then go back to your iPhone springboard and launch BytaFont. You will see your downloaded font in there, as well as the original iOS 4 font (which comes preloaded with BytaFont). Select the font you want to install and confirm. Your device will respring and you should see the new font all over your iPhone.

Racing games are a great genre for iDevice developers to look into considering the accelerometer in the iPhone and iPod Touch. With the hundreds that there currently are, only a few really stand out from the crowd and those are usually the ones that achieve more in terms of things consumers like to see. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit has it all and more.
The main part of the game lies within the career mode which features something never been seen before on the iDevice. The whole story mode has you playing as a cop in all kinds of wicked rides taking out illegal street racers one by one. Sure, in Underground there were a few missions where you maybe played as the cop, or got chased by a cop. But this game’s cop mode is completely sick. Each mission has you taking out someone by deceiving them with the combined help of your buddy cops and your car.
The missions involve constantly ramming into your target car to ultimately empty the gauge above it. With each hit your blow to the opponent, each nitrous boost you activate, with each hand-break swerve you perform, and with a whole bunch of other things you’ll do you will get bounty which at the end of the level stacks up with your other bounty from other missions. The more you get, the better as the bounty goes towards your leveling up and receiving new cars with each advance from one title to the next.
What I meant when I said “help from your buddy cops” earlier was that you’ll have the option to call upon a roadblock in the beginning, and then later in the mode be able to lay down spikes and use EMPs to disable your target. Though they get a little repetitive because of the lack of variety, it’s always a thrill to see the car you’re chasing spinoff.
All of the levels take place in different environment which are full with objects you’d find in that place along with some scenery that adds depth.
With a Need for Speed, game you all probably know, comes some awesome cars which even better actually exist. You start off with not so good cars compared to the ones that you’ll be receiving later in the game. Each car looks exactly like its real life version which brings me to my next point: the artwork of the game is just off the charts. I took a look at EA’s MMA earlier this week which had some pretty realistic character sprites, but this, this game is much better. The cars are a bit boxy and jagged every here and then, but they’re overall state is just more than I can describe. The backgrounds and such are crisp, the cars are pretty real looking, and the environments created in each environment seem great for such high-speed chasing.
The career mode has a total of 24 missions across 4 different maps with the difficulty of each increasing as you go along. This franchise is known mostly for the high speed action you get in the console versions and the earlier releases on the iDevice, and this definitely doesn’t fall short in any way.
There is also a multiplayer mode which only enables you to play locally with friends over wifi or bluetooth which was a disappointment. I was really looking forward to putting my skills to the test online with other people, but since there’s not a mode designated for that purpose I wasn’t able to. A racer like this always needs an online multiplayer mode desperately!
I really love this game, I do, but I’m still looking for one feature that has been in one or some of the console games if I’m not mistaken. The game desperately needs some sort of free-roam mode for maybe picking chases to go to. The barrier on the side of the road restricts you from actual free driving, and besides actually playing there’s no mode where you can simple drive where you feel like. It might be too late for this game, but hopefully if EA releases anymore (which I hope they do!) they’ll incorporate this feature to put the finishing touch to the game.
Hot Pursuit has been a real joy to play mainly because of the cop career mode and because of the amazing visuals. You can’t go wrong with this adrenaline fueled, action-packed title from EA. Really, the $4.99 price tag is too little to be asking for this kind of racer! It should be on the list of fans of the series and for fans fans of the genre!
LargeViewer 1.0 for iOS Displays Documents Up to 10,000 x 8,000 Pixels
LargeViewer is designed specifically to overcome the two most common problems when using a typical document viewer to display very large documents on an iOS device: crashes and slow-downs. Due to its limited screen size, processing power, graphics hardware, and internal memory, viewing a 10,000 x 8,000 pixel TIFF using an iPad can be a bad experience. Scrolling is very slow, zooming takes 15 seconds or longer. LargeViewer solves this, and handles the common PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and PDF file formats natively. Other common file formats are read, but require pre-processing before display. Because it supports iOS 4.x multi-tasking, any pre-processing may be done in the background.
Engineering or Architectural drawing like ISO A0 (841 x 1,189 mm/33.1 x 46.8 in) or in the USA Arch E (762 x 1,067 mm/30 x 42 in), or the Large E size (915 x 1,220 mm/36 x 48 in), plus the more standard size of D1 (24 x 36 in) are usable and render instantly.
The Economist
The best known current affairs magazine has not gone down the same route as other media outlets, instead of charging current subscribers extra they offer it for free so long as you are a online or print subscriber. This should undoubtedly increase readership, a move which the Times online failed to do.
The brand new digital version of the magazine brings in rich media sources like audio, the articles are read out by professional voice artists so you can get on with something else whilst still keeping up to date with current affairs. Another neat feature comes in the form of page caching; users can store articles to read at a later date.
If you are not a subscriber digital editions can be purchased on an ad-hoc basis for £3.49 per issue, that’s about a 50p saving compared to the paper version of the magazine – nice.

Apple is perhaps most famous for the ground breaking iPod range of portable music players. One of the attractions of the iPhone 4 is that it incorporates the same facilities as the iPod Touch. The instant response would be that such facilities are available on all modern phones, but none do it quite as well as the iPhone. The great display on the iPhone 4 is perfect for displaying all the album cover art that is supported. Tracks can be selected via a great range of choices including song name, artist, album and most played. One of the new features on this model is the ability to make your own playlist on the phone, rather than doing it on iTunes and then transferring it. Plenty of storage is available on the phone to house your collection, with the iPhone 4 being available in 16GB and 32GB models. Music only sounds as good as the headphones it is listened to through, so the inclusion of a 3.5mm jack plug gives users an almost unlimited choice. Several formats are supported including AAC, MP3 and Apple Lossless which offers the best quality sound with minimum compression.
